I got a camera for my birthday and this is my first video with it. The lighting isn’t very good, but I wanted to try it out. Next one I do will be better……
Anyhow, this is how to make an origami Lily or Iris. I am going to get bigger and prettier paper soon and then I’ll do more tutorials. This one is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Enjoy!
I had been wanting to start origami for a very long time, I just never got around to buying the supplies. So when my sister gave me an origami set for Christmas, I dove right in. It’s super fun, and not that hard, once you get the hang of it. It’s a little addictive, too, because I want to get everything right. 😉
Below are some of the things I’ve made. I’ll be updating the pics on my sidebar with the new things I make. If you have any tips, please leave a comment, it’s appreciated!
Iris (favorite thing to make)
Star Box for my gum
Swan (first thing made)
To me, 2016 was a great year. Still, I’m very happy to be moving on to 2017 and I am looking forward to all the great things to come.
This past year, other than personal things, I think that the one big thing that was so absolutely great was the election. I know some people disagree with me, but there is once again Hope this Christmas. Hope for the country, the world, yourself, the future. Everything looks brighter. It feels like the words by Walt Disney, “If you can dream it, you can do it,” are possible again. In the words of the President-Elect, “Dream big, never think anything is impossible.”
So, altogether, it seems like 2017 will be a great year. I’m sure that hard work, trials and moments of despair will be there, but together we can achieve anything, a united America, with a president who is truly ‘for the people, by the people, of the people’.
Enjoy the wonderful holidays with family and friends and take time to realize how lucky we all are to be a part of today and how wonderful that we can shape tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope you have a wonderful time with family and friends. We all have much to be grateful for. 🙂
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” –William Arthur Ward
Here’s another poem I wrote. Hope you enjoy! 😀
High above my head,
Leaving misty paths they tread,
So far, yet close,
Mysterious, yet known.
Day and night,
They stand on guard,
By unknown right they stay,
Watching over us day by day.
Conversing softly in unknown tongues,
They twinkle cheerily, ne’er failing,
Till at last the mornings light,
Makes us forget their might.
But each night without a fail,
They reappear and lift the veil,
We gasp in wonder and amaze,
At the glories we can only gaze.
“Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight.”
Happy Veteran’s Day! Thank you to all the men and women who have served our country, and to those who still serve today. We are deeply grateful.
